ENERGY SYSTEM PLANNING & ECONOMICS

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

  • EUROSTAG® – a pioneer software tool co-developed by Tractebel Engineering and RTE for the simulation of power system dynamics using a unique auto-adaptative integration stepsize.
  • SMART FLOW – a complete power system calculation tool permitting smart flow determination and control. In addition to the EUROSTAG® functions, it embeds a large set of static functions, from Basic Power Flow computation to advanced Optimal Power Flow.
  • FAST – a real-time, full dynamic simulation engine for Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) powered by EUROSTAG®. FAST allows real-time, high fidelity simulation of all electromechanical phenomena.
  • PRELE and SCANNER for technico-economical planning optimization of power systems including integration of gas and water.

TRAINING
Like pilots, system operators need to stay in top form. PSC is experienced in organising and delivering training for its customers from system planning methodologies to real-time simulated system operation to ensure network operators maintain good reflexes in case of problems.

SECURE RELATIONSHIPS
Trust is a 2-way street – the more we know about a power system and the more openly our customers can share their strategies and goals, the better we can serve their interests. Our natural orientation is also to build towards Framework Agreements with regular clients; allowing faster, secure interventions, on “already-known” systems, as needed.

PEGASE TAKES-OFF

PEGASE – Pan-European Grid Advanced Simulation and State Estimation project, led by Tractebel Engineering, with14 European partners (TSOs, universities) was completed in 2012. PEGASE has produced new tools to enhance cooperation among TSOs in the real-time control and operation of large power systems; with powerful algorithms and full-scale prototypes that allow state estimation, dynamic security analysis, steady state optimization and dispatcher training simulation. www.fp7-pegase.com
